Accounts Receivable

Purpose: To generate our team’s effectiveness in building brand awareness and make high level contacts at conferences around the world.

Proposal

  1. Define your Goals. Determine what you want to achieve. This will help guide your decisions.

  2. Review your schedule. Look at the conference agenda in advance and prioritize the sessions, workshops and speakers you want to see. Split with colleagues, if necessary.

  3. Research and connect with key people. Identify key attendees, speakers, or company reps you want to meet. Look them up on platforms like Linkedin beforehand. Message them to see if they would like to meet in person at the conference.

  4. Prepare marketing materials. Update and print your business cards, pamphlets, etc. Prepare a concise, 30-second elevator pitch introducing yourself and your work.

  5. Pack a “Survival Pack.” Bring essentials like a notebook and pens, portable chargers, snacks, a water bottle and comfortable bag. Check the conference dress code (likely business casual).

  6. Finalize your travel arrangements. Finalize your travel and accommodations in advance.

Invoicing

  1. Follow your schedule. Set up your schedule and do your best to follow the plan.

  2. Set up and meet with key people. Find people you can add value to or that can add value to you. Be authentic, ask open-ended questions about their careers and industry challenges and be a good listener. See if there are ways you can collaborate.

  3. Be strategic in sessions. Take thorough notes on key ideas and new contacts.

  4. Engage socially. Attend social events and enjoy meeting new people.

Payments

  1. One Day follow-up. Within 24 hours, follow up with any new contacts. Send them a personalized email or LinkedIn message.

  2. One Week follow-up. Within 1 week, follow up with your new contact.

  3. One Month follow-up. Within 1 month, follow up with your new contact.
